One week in Euronat in October 2011

For some naturists, naturism rimes with heat and summer. So, spend his holiday in a naturist resort in October might surprise. It is well known that October is in Autumn and like the children sing : "Autumn leaves are falling down. Falling down, falling down. Autumn leaves are falling down. All around the town...".

Well, we have spent a wonderful holiday in October in Euronat. And this is how we did...

A chalet at a very low price

During the autumn holidays, the prices in Euronat have nothing to do with the rates of high season. So you can choose a very comfortable chalet for a very reasonable price.

Warm and sunny weather

First of all, and this has nothing to do with us, we have had a wonderful weather. In one week, only one grey day and six very sunny days ! Soft temperatures under a blue sky made it possible to be naked at certain hours.

Further, there were some activities organised, even if to a lesser extent then in summer...

The swimming pool

The swimming pool of Euronat is heated at 27 ° C (sometimes 27,5 °C!). It is divided in two parts. One outdoor pool with waterslide and one indoor pool. In October the outdoor pools were empty and the waterslides were closed. It was just possible to use the terrace to tan a little bit !

The indoor pool was fully operational until Sunday (beware, the pool closed before the end of the autumn holidays). There are changing rooms, a small pool and a big pool. The "small" pool measures 15 metres by 5. The children are very happy with it. It is bigger and deeper than a paddling pool. They can run, play with a ball, have fun...

The big pool is perfect for swimmers. Its length is 25 metres for 15 metres large. Its depth is 3,70 m near the diving boards. This must be a record for a naturist resort.

The entire swimming pool is watched permanently by a sympathetic and naturist swimming instructor. It is possible to take swim lessons beyond the opening times.

Note also, that the children and adults can use boards and other material for free. So no need to overload your car with it.

The tennis courts

The tennis courts number 4 and 5 were available. You had to book them at the reception for the price of 5 euro an hour. They were quite often in use, though we have always found a free hour for us.

The horse riding centre

We think that the horse riding centre was open, but because we don't ride horses, we are not completely sure !

Volleyball

The volleyball fields were there but not the net. A pity...

The beach

It is the ideal place for a walk. The sunset is very beautiful and attracts always some fans.

The shopping centre

Most of the shops were closed. Were open : the bakery, a restaurant, a tapas bar, the tobacconist (in the morning), the bike rental (sometimes).

The customers

The holidaymakers of October in Euronat could be divided in different categories :
- The resident owners who are always there.
- The owners who don't live there permanently, but come during their holidays or offer their accommodation to their children.
- Persons that live outside Euronat, but who go to the swimming pool by paying the entrance fee.
- The holidaymakers who have rent an accommodation for the occasion.

We belong to the last category. We had rented at Euronat a fully equipped and very comfortable chalet. Heated, it was possible to stay naked, the more given that the chalets are not close to each other and orientated intelligently.

Talking in the swimming pool, it seemed to us that our category « holidaymaker that rents » was the minority in October compared to the owners or children from owners.

In the swimming pool, there were families and lot's of children. Our son has made new friends every day.

Halloween in Soulac

Note, that if you have children, that the town of Soulac organises a very nice Halloween celebration. The children's faces are painted for free in vampire, jack-in-the-box, fairy... Then they go to the shops of the town to collect sweets. Without discussing about the legitimacy of Halloween in France, we will remember their joy and their smiles.

To do again !

In short, we have spent marvellous holidays in Euronat, in October during the autumn holiday. Our son of 5 years was delighted. Our programme : naturism, swimming, tennis and walks to relax and to breath. To do again !
