Naturism in films

It is very rare that a film has a scene relating to naturism. But, now and then, it happens that a screenwriter tells to himself "So, what if we talked about the naturists ...". Here some examples listed from the most recent to the oldest, with some extra information (Beware spoiler !)...

Sales gosses

"Sales gosses" (Naughty kids) is a French comedy, released the 19 July 2017. It is the first film directed by the actor Frédéric Quiring.
It tells the summer of Alex who should have been leader in a classical summer camp, but who becomes, due to an external intervention..., leader in a summer camp for retired persons. These pull the wool over his eyes. This explains, the catch line of the film : "Retraités en colo, monos au bout du rouleau"  (Retired persons on camp, leaders on the end of their rope)...
The naturist scene arrives at more or less 1 hour (as far as I remember) of film. Alex and his group are lost in the forest and arrive accidently in the middle of a supermarket of a "nudist camp". Caught in the act of stealing, they must leave totally nude to avoid that a complaint will be filed at the police ...
You have it certainly understood, the scene is not crucial and even not credible... Honestly, do you think it is possible to enter a naturist holiday resort without realizing it until you are at the store aisle of canned food in the supermarket ? More, the supermarket is far too big. Even the supermarkets of CHM, Euronat or La Jenny are not that big. Fortunately, we don't expect from a comedy to be credible, we just want it to be funny … and if possible, original. For this naturist scene, it is not original, because the contrast between the natural nudity and the coldness of the temples of consumption has already be used, particularly in the excellent film « Camping » (see further). But, maybe this scene, has after all, a little original side : the lower belly of the actors is blurred when they are running out of the supermarket. This is original ! I think, it is the first time that I see the actors blurred in a movie. Original and dismaying... or supposed to be funny ?
Beside this not genious naturist scene, the movie is often funny and politically incorrect, which is rather a plus ! The actors are perfect, in the first place Thomas Solivérès in the rOle of Alex. Note also the presence of Issa Doumbia and Liliane Rovère absolutely outstanding.
A globally successful comedy that has the merit to show elder persons (or the seniors) like they are, selfish and naughty ! 😀 (available at Amazon)

Camping 3

The French comedy "Camping 3" has been directed by Fabien Onteniente, also the director of the two first films. It is released, in France, the 26th of June 2016, six years after "Camping 2". A big part of the recurrent characters of the trilogy plays in this film, even if certain have disappeared like Sophie Gatineau, Mrs Chatel or the flavourful Mendez.
This time, Patrick has taken 3 youngsters from Dijon in carpool to save money. Unfortunately, at their arrival, the youngsters discover that their "sleeping" plan has gone up in smoke and Patrick accepts to accommodate them temporarily in his tent at the campsite the Flots Bleus... For his part, Jacky Pic has memory problems...
The habitual naturist scene of the movies "Camping" arrives quickly, after a little half an hour. We discover at last, the traditional beach volleyball match opposing, every summer, the textiles of the Flots Bleus to the "entirely nudes" of the neighbouring naturist campsite. Remember, this match was already the subject of the summit meeting in the naturist campsite, in the first film of the trilogy.
"Camping" was a terrific succes. "Camping 2", slightly under, was still a good comedy. Unfortunately, "Camping 3" is much under this level, even if the film has gathered an audience of more than 3 million in France. At the moment of writing the screenplay, the gags seem to have overtaken the characters. Result, the tenderness we felt for them has almost completely faded away. It is a pity, because it was one of the keys of the succes of these films. "Camping 3" is to reserve, as we use to say, to the fans of the trilogy... (available at Amazon)

Camping 2

The French comedy "Camping 2" has been directed by Fabien Onteniente, also the director of the first opus. It is released four years later, the 21st of April 2010. We find back the same characters at the exception of the plastic surgeon substituted by an insurance employee played by Richard Anconina.
Jean-Pierre Savelli, a hyper organized maniac, has his holiday programm turned upside down by his partner who wants a break. To find back his calmness, he decides finally to go to the campsite the Flots Bleus with his daughter... From its part, a Basque estate group wants to buy the campsite to build a hotel spa resort...
There are not less than three naturist scenes in this film between 1h05 and 1h20, for a total time of more or less 2 minutes 30. Firstly, Paul Gatineau, angry with his wife, seeks refuge with a friend in the naturist campsite of the Pinède. Then, some minutes later, Patrick and Jean-Pierre come to get him so that he helps to save the campsite the Flots Bleus. At last, the expert of the DRAC is brought to the naturist campsite of the Pinède, disguised in the campsite the Flots bleus, to expertise a Greco-Roman plate ...
Even if "Camping 2" is a little bit under "Camping", which is often the case for the second film, it has encountered a big success. It was the 8st in the French box office of 2010 with almost 4 million spectators ! (available at Amazon)

Camping

"Camping" is a French comedy directed by Fabien Onteniente and released the 26th of April 2006. A serie of in France very popular actors and actresses as Gérard Lanvin, Mathilde Seigner, Franck Dubosc, Claude Brasseur and also Mylène Demongeot plays in this film.
Michel Saint Josse, a world renowded plastic surgeon, breaks down with his Aston Martin on his way to Spain. Waiting for the reparation and because of the lack of place, he is contraint to stay with his daughter in the tent of Patrick Chirac, in the campsite the Flots Bleus, in the Aquitaine region. He will discover the world of camping, the regular guests and their habits ...
The naturist scene comes at about one hour of film and takes more or less 1 minute 15. While normally the traditional beach volleyball match against the naturists is played dressed, the naturists notifiy that this year, they want it be played naked. A delegation of the campsite the Flots Bleus goes to the naturist campsite to make them to change their mind ...
The film "Camping" is a very successful comedy, funny and endearing. The audience was right. This film has encountered an enormous succes in France. It finished 5th of the box office of the year 2006 with more than 5 million entries. For this reason it has been followed by "Camping 2" and "Camping 3"... (available at Amazon)
