Cabanes de Fleury naturist beach is a nice beach of fine sand, located between the textile campsite La Grande Cosse and the village Les Cabanes de Fleury.
It is an official naturist beach, limited by boards preventing of the naturist area.
Its destiny is linked to the campsite La Grande Cosse. When it was still naturist, the naturist beach was just in front. Unfortunately, after being bought by an important chain of campsites, the campsite La Grande Cosse has become textile in 2017. As a result, the naturist beach in front of the campsite has become textile as well, and two official naturist beaches have been created at each side of it.
At the west of the campsite La Grande Cosse, lies now the official Pissevaches naturist beach described in the previous link.
At the east of the same campsite, there is now a second official naturist beach, that we call the "Cabanes de Fleury naturist beach" and that is described in this article.
Even if the two beaches are only seperated by the textile beach of La Grande Cosse, they are different by their access and their ambiance. Pissevaches naturist beach is rather calm and not so busy. While, Cabanes de Fleury naturist beach welcomes a lot of naturists... and textiles.
At our last visit, the 8th of August 2019, what touched us first was the quantity of people on the textile beach. It was plenty ! Rather logical, seen the two textile campsites on the way towards it. The textile part seemed too small and caused the overflow on the naturist area.
But there is more, as the sea in front of the textile part is a watched bathing area where navigation is forbidden, where do you think that the numerous pleasure boats anchor ? In front of the naturist area ? Indeed ! As a result, there are yachtsmen who anchor their boat some metres in front of the naturist beach and spend their day in swimsuit on sea and sometimes on the beach. Fortunately, the naturist people does not seem to bother them...
Actually, this was already the case, when La Grande Cosse was still naturist...
We could not reach the end of the naturist beach to have an idea of its lenght, so important was the presence of the textile tourists.
In short, our impression of this beach : many textiles on the textile area, then many naturists and many textile tourists in the naturist area.
No need to lie about it, we clearly preferred Pissevaches naturist beach that is less busy, calmer and more enjoyable. But to each his tastes.

Cabanes de Fleury naturist beach is located between the textile campsite La Grande Cosse and the village of Cabanes de Fleury. Originally, Les Cabanes de Fleury was a fishermen's village with cabins of reed. Today, the charm of this hamlet with its small yacht harbour in the estuary of the Aude, attracts tourists and yachtsmen.
The hamlet of Cabanes de Fleury is depending administratively on the municipality of Fleury, in the Aude department and the Occitanie region.
Between the things to see around Cabanes de Fleury, we specially think at :
- The Mediterranean Sea and its beaches of fine sand.
- The seaside resort of Valras-Plage at 10 km.
- The market and the fair of Saint-Pierre-la-Mer at 10 km
- The « gouffre de l'Oeil doux » in Fleury (Massif de la Clape).
- The chalets on stilts become famous thanks to the French movie "Betty Blue" ("37°2 le matin"), in Gruissan-Plage at 24 km.
- The salt marshes of Gruissan and its ecomuseum.
- The Notre-Dame des Auzils-chapel in the Massif de la Clape.
- Narbonne at 24 km.
- The castle of Carcassonne (UNESCO) at 82 km.
How to reach Cabanes de Fleury naturist beach ?
1 Join Cabanes de Fleury by the D 718.
2 Just after the board at the beginning of the village, take to the right by following "Parking Plage" i.e. car park beach, then to the left, still by following "Parking Plage".
3 Continue straight ahead. Pass in front of the municipal campsite "Rive d'Aude".
4 Continue straight ahead until the end of the road, to reach the big free car park behind the beach. Park your car.
5 Walk some metres to join the beach and the lifeguard post.
6 From the lifeguard post walk to the right. After 350 m, you will discover a board that indicates the beginning of the "zone naturiste", i.e. naturist area. If you like to have room, walk somewhat more towards the west, but not too far, because the textile tourists are quite close... they are even in the area reserved to naturism...
