Port-Leucate naturist beach is a splendid beach of fine sand along the naturist area officially called "Villages naturistes de Port-Leucate" (Naturist resorts of Port-Leucate).
It is difficult to talk about the beach without speaking about the resorts. Here some history...
In 1974 decided the French government to create a naturist area on the island of Corrège, between Leucate-Plage, in the north and Port-Leucate in the south. All related to each other by the road D 627.
So, on 45 hectares, 7 stone naturist resorts (houses and flats) and a campsite have been created and are waiting for you to accommodate you during your naturist holiday. There are also shops, bars & restaurants... and a naturist beach..
Port-Leucate naturist beach is about 1 km long. It is also a very wide beach, offering a lot of room to the numerous naturist holidaymakers of the naturist resorts.
The beach is watched by lifeguards installed in a pink and good looking lifeguard post. You could imagine yourself in Florida or at Venice beach !
The beach is closed in the south by the Port-Leucate port and in the north by the shellfish centre and a sea access. So there are not many passers-by.
Port-Leucate naturist beach is an official naturist beach. The ambiance is cosy, naturist and family-friendly.

How to reach Port-Leucate naturist beach ?
1 Join the D 627 road.
2 If you arrive by the north (Leucate), leave the D 627, after Leucate-Plage, by following on the right the signboard "Villages naturistes de Port-Leucate". Turn, pass under the bridge, then drive to the right to join the roundabout.
If you arrive by the south (Le Barcarès), leave the D 627 road, after Port-Leucate, by following the signboard to the right "Villages naturistes de Port-Leucate". Continue straight ahead until the roundabout.
3 Go around the roundabout and take the exit "rue Albert Lecocq". See the board with the inscription "Périmètre exclusivement réservé à la pratique du naturisme" (Zone exclusively reserved for the practice of naturism).
4 Park your car on the free car park on your left, at only a few metres of the roundabout.
5 Walk from the car park and take the path just in front of the entrance of the car park. Two big stones block the access to vehicles.
6 Continue straight ahead until the entry of the complex "Résidence Ulysse" and "camping G.C.U.". Get around the complex by the right side.
7 Pass the barrier on the left side and take the path leading you directly to the beach with on your left the fence of the resort Ulyse and on your right a vegetal "no man's land".
8 Pass beside the tennis courts of the Ulysse resort, then of the restaurant "La dune", to join, at the end, Port-Leucate naturist beach.
It might seem long, but, in fact, it goes quickly. In 5 minutes, it's done.
